There are so many lens options today — and the prices range from really, really cheap to “head to the bank to look into a home-equity loan” expensive. The mall places are almost always going to point you towards the latter. The interesting thing about Shuron Frames and their “retro” appeal, is that inexpensive lenses work really well. If you’re interested in looking truly retro, there were no anti-reflective coatings in the 50’s and 60’s.

Additionally, if you’ve got a moderate prescription like mine (-4.25/-3.50), the plastic frames like the Freeway, hide edge thickness VERY well, so there is little need to pay for the “super-thin” lenses, unless you think that’s important.
